Some morning habits in the Islamic way become a routine for Muslims. They try to reach some of Allah’s blessings. That’s not surprising if you find some Muslims even do small deeds with big rewards in the morning.

1. Wake up Early

Wake up early is one of the morning habits in the Islamic way that most Muslims are aware of the importance of it. As they wake up early they can do so many things starting with a morning prayer of Fajr before sunrise.

Most Muslims are aware of their duties, such as keeping the five-a-day prayer and doing some Dhikr. This helps them get some of the benefits of Dhikr every morning. By doing the Fajr prayer they are ready to face the day within some Duas they make during their prayer. May Allah bless them with His mercy.

The mourning routine of doing Fajr prayer is already mentioned in the Quran surah At Takwir verse 18 and the Quran surah Al Isra verse 78 below.

وَالصُّبْحِ اِذَا تَنَفَّسَۙ ١٨

“And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness,” (QS 81:18)

اَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ لِدُلُوْكِ الشَّمْسِ اِلٰى غَسَقِ الَّيْلِ وَقُرْاٰنَ الْفَجْرِۗ اِنَّ قُرْاٰنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُوْدًا ٧٨

Establish prayer from the sun slipping until the dark of the night and (practice also prayer) Fajr! Verily the Fajr prayer was witnessed (by angels).” (QS 17:78)

2. Say ‘Alhamdulillah’ or Recite the Wake up Dua

Alhamdulillah” (all praise be to God), reciting various prayers and supplications, which make us internal strong and This connects you spiritually first thing in the morning.


الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ“. 1.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said: “O Allah, in Your Name I die and I live (Allāhumma bismika amūtu wa aḥyā).” And when he would wake, he would say: “Allah praise is due to Allah who revived my soul after causing its death and to Him is the resurrection (Al-ḥamdulillāh, alladhī aḥyā nafsī ba`da mā amātahā wa ilaihin-nushūr).” [Tirmidhi]


3. Gusl(full ablution), Teeth (Miswaak), make Wudu

Following proper personal hygiene practices as taught in Islam helps a Muslim attain physical cleanliness and spiritual purity for worship.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Lillah (all praise and gratitude is for Allah alone) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Lillah fill up what is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one’s faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur’an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves.


4. Reciting the Quran

Reciting the Quran is one of the morning habits in the Islamic way that you can apply daily. According to Islamic rules, Muslims should recite at least one verse of the Quran per day. You may recite some surahs from the Quran in the morning to receive blessings from Allah’s mercy.

Reciting the Quran will give you some of the benefits of understanding it. It will also help you get closer to Allah. Those facts may help you get rewards from Allah by doing a good deed. One of the benefits of reading the Al Quran every day.

It is already mentioned in the Quran surah Al Muzzammil verses 1-4 below that it is better to recite the Quran after you’ve done the Fajr prayer in the morning.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُۙ ١ قُمِ الَّيْلَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًاۙ ٢ نِّصْفَهٗٓ اَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيْلًاۙ ٣ اَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَرْتِيْلًاۗ ٤

O people who gather (Prophet Muhammad), wake up (for prayer) at night, except for a small part, (ie) half of it, less than that, or more than (half) of it. Read the Qur’an slowly.” (QS 73:1-4)


5. Pray Fajr Salah

Fajr salah is the obligatory morning prayer made up of 2 rakat fard along with 2 rakat sunnah, which spiritually connects the believer to God at the start of each day.

Muslim (657) narrated that Jundub ibn ‘Abd-Allaah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays Fajr is under the protection of Allaah, so do not fall short with regard to the rights of Allaah, for anyone who does that, Allaah will seize him and will throw him on his face into the Fire of Hell.”


6. Make Supplication

One of the morning habits in the Islamic way is making a supplication in the morning. You can apply such as making Duas to protect yourself from hell. By making some Duas, you may get some blessing from Allah so that your life can be easier than before.

Moreover, Allah already mentioned in the Quran surah Gafir verse 60 that He will grant every wishes to whom that make supplications towards Him.

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُوْنِيْٓ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۗاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِيْ سَيَدْخُلُوْنَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِيْنَ ࣖ ٦٠

“Your Lord said, “Pray to Me, I will surely accept for you (what you hope for). Verily, those who are arrogant and do not want to worship Me will enter Hell in a state of humiliation.” (QS 40: 60)


7. Reading or Exercises

Reading news or books in the morning will help you stay knowledgeable. If you don’t like reading, you can exercise while listening to informative podcasts. For example, you could listen to podcasts about Islamic law and online investing.

Whether you decide to read or exercise in the morning, both have benefits for your brain and health. Moreover, Allah is love to those who keep their body and soul healthy with good knowledge in their mind.

It is already mentioned in the Quran surah Al A’raf verse 31 below.

 يٰبَنِيْٓ اٰدَمَ خُذُوْا زِيْنَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَّكُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوْاۚ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِيْنَ ࣖ ٣١

“O children and grandchildren of Adam, wear your beautiful clothes at every (enter) mosque and eat and drink, but do not overdo it. Verily, He does not like those who are excessive.” (QS 7:31)


8. Eat a healthy breakfast


Islam also encourages eating a healthy and halal breakfast and provides guidance on making it beneficial. As our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Have suhoor (predawn meal), for in suhoor lies barakah (blessings).” Breakfast provides energy and blessings to start your day.

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “Whoever takes seven ‘Ajwa dates in the morning will not be affected by magic or poison on that day.” [Sahih Bukhari]


9. Ishraq prayer

Ishraq prayer is an optional or nafl prayer that Muslims can offer in the late morning hours. It consists of 2 or 4 rakat prayers which are performed sometime after the sunrise once it has risen considerably high.

Abu Dhilal narrated from Anas bin Malik (May Allah Most High be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah (Most High) until the sun has risen, then prays two Rak’ah, for him is a reward like that of a Hajj and Umrah.’ He said, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Complete, complete, complete.’ This is a Hasan singular narration. I (Imam al-Tirmidhi) asked Muhammad bin Ismaeel (Imam al-Bukhari) about Abi Dhilal. He said, his narrations are reasonable. (Tirmidhi, 586).


10. Make a Plan

Making a plan for a day that you will be getting through is one of the morning habits in the Islamic way that you can apply. This routine will make your day easier with a great plan behind it.

You may already have in mind a thing to do towards the day onward. If you start with a plan then you will be facing your work more than ready without planning it at all. Moreover, Allah has already mentioned it in the Quran surah Al Anfal verse 60 below.

وَاَعِدُّوْا لَهُمْ مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ قُوَّةٍ وَّمِنْ رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُوْنَ بِهٖ عَدُوَّ اللّٰهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَاٰخَرِيْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهِمْۚ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَهُمْۚ اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْۗ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوْا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ يُوَفَّ اِلَيْكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ ٦٠

“Prepare for (face) them what you can, in the form of strength (which you have) and cavalry. With it (the preparation) you make fear of Allah’s enemies, your enemies, and those beside them whom you do not know, (but) Allah knows. Whatever you spend in the way of Allah will surely be repaid to you in full, while you will not be wronged.” (QS 8:60)
